Job Description

Overview True Connections Behavioral Health Services is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Support Assistant to join our growing outpatient behavioral health team. This position provides essential support for psychiatric medication management services and broader behavioral health operations. The Behavioral Health Support Assistant works closely with the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and multidisciplinary team to support provider workflow preparation, documentation coordination, referral processes, treatment tracking, compliance-related activities, and efficient daily clinical operations. This role plays an important part in helping improve timely access to high-quality mental health and substance use treatment services for individuals and families in our rural community. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, professional, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining strong attention to detail and confidentiality. Experience in behavioral health, healthcare support, medical office administration, or a related setting is preferred. Training will be provided regarding agency workflows, documentation processes, and psychiatric medication management support responsibilities. Responsibilities Prepare daily psychiatric schedules, charts, and supporting documentation for provider appointments Prepare Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) reports for provider review Ensure psychiatric medication management forms, consents, and required documentation are completed and accurately maintained Support psychiatric medication documentation readiness and provider workflow preparation Assist with laboratory result coordination and related clinical documentation tracking Monitor in-house medication inventory workflow and notify clinical staff of reordering needs Collect, organize, and maintain client intake documentation and clinical records Coordinate referrals, records requests, and follow-up communication Track treatment plan review dates and documentation completion Assist with chart audits and compliance-related documentation monitoring Support client appointment readiness by ensuring required forms and records are prepared Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, MaineCare, and agency documentation standards Collaborate effectively with the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and multidisciplinary team Attend required trainings and ongoing professional development Perform additional duties as assigned to support behavioral health operations Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in behavioral health, human services, healthcare administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Experience in behavioral health, healthcare support, medical office administration, or a related setting preferred. Knowledge of behavioral health terminology, confidentiality standards, HIPAA regulations, and documentation practices preferred. Experience with electronic health record systems, data entry, and general office software preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all interactions. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Ability to learn and adhere to agency workflows, psychiatric medication management support processes, documentation standards, MaineCare requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations. Training will be provided regarding agency workflows, documentation processes, and psychiatric medication management support responsibilities.
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
