Days Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health System is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Eastwood Recovery Center in Southfield, Michigan . This day shift position provides an opportunity to care for patients in a residential addiction treatment setting focused on recovery from substance use disorders and the underlying effects of trauma, neglect, and mental health conditions. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians and an interdisciplinary team to complete admission medical reviews, determine appropriate levels of care, and perform history and physical examinations on new admissions within 72 hours of arrival. Additional responsibilities include assessing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, providing preventative care and patient education, coordinating referrals and community resources, and supporting individualized treatment plans that promote long-term recovery and wellness. Qualifications:
Behavioral Health Experience as an APP preferred NP or PA graduate from an accredited program Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
Credentials:
Education & Training Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) Licensure Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).
Certification PA:
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
NP:
National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP) Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) - required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required (may be obtained after hire) DEA /
Controlled Substance Licensure PA:
DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
NP:
DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
