ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The teacher assistant may be involved in assisting the coordinator in planning and organizing the program of activities. The primary responsibilities involve assisting the coordinator in teaching and supervising children in the program and working with a specific group of children as assigned by the director. In the absence of the coordinator, the assistant will assume all the duties and responsibilities of the program. The assistant will assist in coordinating substitutes.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related work as required
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
This person must have a high school diploma or equivalency. Evaluation on the employee will be handled in accordance with provisions of Board Policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Some positions assigned to this class may require light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
