Direct Support Person

Family is seeking a patient, reliable support person to work one-on-one with our 15-year old son in the community. He is a creative, verbal teen with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, and cognitive delays. He benefits from structure, calm communication, and consistent supervision. He enjoys art, basketball, and one-on-one interaction with trusted adults. Your enthusiasm and patience will help foster positive behavioral changes, promote well-being, and ensure safety. Child can become dysregulated when overwhelmed, rushed, or during down time. The ideal candidate is patient, confident, active, and comfortable supporting teens with behavioral and emotional challenges. Must have reliable transportation. Candidate should be willing to work a 2-week trial period for 10 hours/week at $17.00/hr. If a good fit, can be available to work 15-20 hrs/week (including one weekend day) at $20/hr. Providing activities such as sports, nature, arts and crafts. Assisting with transitions from home to community. Supporting emotional regulation during periods of frustration. Administering medications following prescribed instruction. Taking to appointments such as swim lessons, group therapy. Maintaining clear boundries and a calm presence. Assisting with good decision making while using money at restaurants and stores. Work with family to problem solve and provide consistancy.

Pay:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
