Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team providing Developmental Disability (DD) Services to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism and other conditions, by promoting their independence, well-being, and community integration. Your energetic approach and compassionate attitude will help empower those we serve to lead fulfilling lives. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in behavioral health, caregiving, and social support. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence and self-care. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques. Support communication efforts using various methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), to facilitate effective interaction. Collect and document data related to service delivery, progress notes, and behavioral observations accurately and consistently. Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medication administration records. Provide transportation and driving support for appointments or community outings in compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans that reflect each individual's goals and preferences. Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with individuals of varying abilities and backgrounds. Ability to assist with ADLs and provide caregiving support in home or community settings. Valid driver's license and clean driving record for transportation responsibilities. Familiarity with data collection methods related to social work or behavioral health services. Certification or experience in medication administration, if applicable by local regulations. Compassionate, patient, energetic, and committed to empowering individuals through supportive care.
