Behavioral Support Specialist (IDD / DDD)

Per Diem About the Role We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Support Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities under the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). This role focuses on behavioral assessment, development of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), and training/support of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure effective implementation in home and community settings. This is a per-case, flexible role ideal for clinicians with DDD experience who prefer consultative or per-diem work. Key Responsibilities Conduct behavioral assessments for individuals receiving DDD services Develop clear, individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) Collaborate with families, guardians, and support teams Train DSPs on BSP implementation and behavior strategies Provide ongoing oversight, guidance, and plan revisions as needed Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as required Ensure all documentation aligns with NJ DDD standards and ISP goals Qualifications One of the following: BCBA Licensed clinician (LCSW, LPC, Psychologist) Demonstrated experience working with individuals with IDD Experience developing and overseeing BSPs under NJ DDD Strong documentation and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage caseloads Reliable transportation within New Jersey Preferred Experience Prior work with Tier E or high-acuity cases Experience training DSPs in home-based settings Familiarity with ISP and PCPT documentation Compensation Competitive per-case and/or hourly rates Rates based on experience, credentials, and scope of work Flexible scheduling Behavioral Support Specialist (IDD / DDD) 121 Downing Street, Lakewood, NJ 08701 $85
