Now Hiring:
Crisis-Prepared Direct Support Specialist for Established Home Behavior Health Organization (private on ad due to clients request) Do you have the experience, crisis preparedness, and compassion to make a real impact? We are hiring Direct Support Specialists to work 1:1 with an adolescent with developmental disabilities in a structured, clinically supported environment.
Location:
Confidential•Forest Hills, NY, Both car and public transportation accessible.
Pay:
$22•$30 an hour plus sign on bonus after 90 days perfect attendance and quarterly bonuses based on attendance.
Shifts:
7:30•3 pm or 3 pm to 9 pm Saturday and Sunday | We are currently looking for a floater and someone to work the weekend shifts.
Staffing Ratio:
1 staff per shift | Team consists of 6 therapists. Follow and implement the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) with fidelity Maintain a safe, engaging, and structured environment Collect detailed behavioral data throughout the shift Provide crisis intervention using SCIP and/or CPI procedures when necessary Promote positive social engagement and daily life skills Collaborate closely with your co-staff and the supervising
BCBA Minimum Requirements:
SCIP and/or CPI Certified (must be current) Physically Healthy and large size staff are a + due to the clients age/size (180-200) CPR & First Aid Certified 2+ Years of Experience working with individuals in: OPWDD programs Mental health facilities Crisis-preparedness or high-support settings Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm, professional, and proactive during challenging situations Why Join Us? $22.00•$30.00 per hour Application Question(s): This case requires a Male Therapist we cannot accept female candidates for the safety of everyone and due to the size and aggressiveness of the client. Do you have experience in physical restraints and safely taking down someone ? Also working with a client with aggressive behaviors that may occur on a regular basis ? Being punctual is a high priority for this case. Due to the nature of the client we have to be ready to start our shifts on time (being on time is late) and be alert and ready for any situation that may arise. Are there any situations that would affect your timeliness and your ability to be well rested and alert ? Would you be available to be a floater for call outs ?
