- Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans
- Interact with patients and observe and progress and responses to treatment
- Assist and instruct patients in attending to person care tasks
- Escort patients to activities and appointments on and facility grounds
- Complete necessary documentation and maintain patient records Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Security Hospital Treatment Assistant if they have:
- A High School or High School Equivalency Diploma and two years of full-time direct patient care experience working in a health care, behavioral health, corrections, or juvenile justice setting/program;
or
- An associate's degree and one year of full-time direct patient care experience working in a health care, behavioral health, corrections or juvenile justice setting;
or
- A bachelor's degree. OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. License Requirement:
