POSITION
Library/Clinic Aide (Elementary)
LOCATION
Rossford Elementary School Rossford Schools is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-focused individual to serve as a Library/Clinic Aide at Rossford Elementary School. This position primarily supports the daily operation of the school health clinic by assisting students with routine health needs, maintaining health records, and providing clerical support to the school nurse. The position may also provide occasional assistance in the school library or with other student support duties as assigned.
Schedule:
4 hours per day 11:45 a.m.-3:45 p.m.
Compensation:
Hourly rate in accordance with the negotiated agreement. Position Overview The Library/Clinic Aide plays an important role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of elementary students throughout the school day. Working under the direction of the school nurse and building administration, the successful candidate will assist with first aid, student health documentation, medication procedures, communication with families, and other clinic-related responsibilities. The position may also provide support in the school library as directed or scheduled by the building principal. Essential Responsibilities Provide basic first aid and health support to students and staff under the direction of the school nurse. Assist with the administration of student medications in accordance with Board policy and physician authorization. Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and clinic documentation. Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student illness, injury, or health concerns as directed. Assist with student health screenings and maintain related records. Prepare and maintain medical alert information, emergency medication, and field trip medical supplies. Maintain clinic supplies, equipment, and a clean, safe health office environment. Complete accident reports and other required documentation. Assist with attendance, clerical, and office responsibilities as needed. Support student supervision during the school day as assigned. Provide occasional assistance in the school library, as directed or scheduled by the building principal. Follow all district policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Candidates should possess: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum age of 18 years. Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit (or ability to obtain one). Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain certification. Strong organizational, communication, computer, and clerical skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding student health and educational records. Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and other staff. Dependability, professionalism, and sound judgment. Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred. Willingness to learn additional health-related procedures, including EpiPen administration, diabetic monitoring, seizure response, asthma management, and other student health supports.
