Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Cafeteria Monitor and play a vital role in creating a safe, positive, and enjoyable lunch environment for students. In this energetic position, you will oversee the cafeteria area during meal times, ensuring proper behavior, safety, and smooth operations. Your proactive approach will foster a welcoming atmosphere where children feel secure and supported, helping to promote healthy social interactions and respectful conduct among students. Duties Supervise students during lunch periods to maintain order and safety within the cafeteria. Enforce school rules and behavior expectations, addressing conflicts promptly with effective conflict management techniques. Assist in monitoring student activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines. Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by applying appropriate behavior management strategies. Communicate clearly with students, staff, and parents as needed to promote a positive cafeteria experience. Collaborate with teachers and school staff to address behavioral issues and implement classroom experience best practices. Respond quickly to emergencies or incidents by administering basic first aid when necessary and following established protocols. Skills Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, staff, and parents. Experience working with children and understanding child development principles. Knowledge of behavior management techniques suitable for diverse student populations. Ability to handle conflicts calmly and professionally while maintaining a positive environment. Familiarity with classroom experience or teaching methods that support student well-being during meal times. Basic first aid certification to respond confidently in emergency situations. Sensitivity to the needs of students in special education settings and experience working with diverse learners. Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
