~32 hours per week We are urgently hiring multiple School Aides to support students across Multnomah County, OR. This is a short-term, immediate-start opportunity ideal for candidates who are flexible, reliable, and passionate about supporting students with special needs. About the Role As a School Aide, you will work closely with special education teams to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal care support to students. This is an itinerant (floating) position, meaning you may support different classrooms or schools based on daily needs. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to students with special education needs Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene Support students with behavioral challenges, including aggression or nonverbal communication Help maintain a safe and structured learning environment Adapt quickly to changing classroom assignments and student needs Collaborate with teachers, aides, and support staff What to Expect Students may have high behavioral or physical support needs Assignments may change daily based on staffing needs Mileage reimbursement provided when traveling between sites Strong emphasis on reliability, flexibility, and attendance Minimum Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements CPR certification (if applicable) TB screening/health clearance (as required) At least 18 years of age This is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact and gain hands-on experience supporting students in a dynamic school environment.
