Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a 1:1 Paraprofessional/PCA, providing dedicated support to students in an engaging educational environment near West Chester, PA. This full-time role focuses on fostering academic and social growth for individual students, running from ASAP through June 2027. Ideal candidates will demonstrate patience, adaptability, and a sincere commitment to helping students thrive. Prior experience as a paraprofessional or personal care assistant in schools is highly valued, especially when working in a 1:1 capacity with children who benefit from additional guidance and encouragement.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Experience supporting students in a classroom or school setting, especially as a paraprofessional or PCA Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families Strong communication skills and natural empathy Flexibility and reliability in daily routines High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education or relevant certifications preferred Willingness to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct 1:1 assistance to assigned student according to their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs throughout the school day Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and daily routines Offer positive reinforcement and strategies for independence Maintain accurate documentation of interventions and progress Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to implement effective support strategies
