Behavior Assistant

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This position works in the classroom with children who have been identified with challenging behavior issues. This position requires hands-on techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

: Must possess a high school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a mental/behavioral health field preferred Minimum qualifications for position include passing a physical, TB screening, background check and a pre-hire drug screening prior to employment. Must be computer literate. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Experience in working with children and/or families demonstrating challenging behaviors; possess ability to work with teachers and parents regarding behavior management or other mental health issues; ability to compile baseline data on children's behaviors; ability to work with mental health consultants and educational staff; possesses good written and oral communication skills. Applicants should list bilingual skills if applicable. A current physical, TB Screening, background check and drug test are required prior to working with children.
