Beaumont, TX Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Behavior management QMHP Certification Electronic health records (EHR) management Working with geriatric patients Driver's License Working with children Bachelor's degree NCC Substance abuse EMR systems Psychopharmacology Counseling Certification Crisis intervention counseling Geriatrics Behavioral health Full Job Description Job Summary Family Guidance of Texas Inc. is seeking QMHP's that will be responsible for providing strengths-based training utilizing an evidence-based curriculum that will help develop and build skills to help the adult or child have a more successful existence. The Qualified Mental Health Professional will provide the following services: Skill Training & Development, Medication Training & Support Services, and Crisis Intervention Services. The Qualified Mental Health Professional will implement the Service/Treatment Plan focused on the adult or child and family needs and recognize their strengths. The plan will address all the client needs identified by the adult, family, child, and any collateral information. Responsibilities Responsible for providing skill-building training in the home or out in the community: one-on-one skills sessions at home, at the office, or in the community relating to goals and objectives using evidence-based practices and curriculums Provides support and crisis/emergency services for the child/family through face-to-face contact, phone contact, or availability by an on-call system (all time spent on crisis assessment and planning, crisis linkage and follow-up, and stabilization must be documented as crisis hours) Maintains all client documentation in the electronic record and writes progress notes adhering to requirements set by the Texas Administrative Code. Utilize effective listening skills to establish rapport with clients, family members, and other individuals close to the client; provide emotional support and encouragement; and engage family members in the service process. Maintains records by regulatory/agency standards. Enters data in a clear, accurate, and timely manner. Also, promptly submits documentation needed for the tracking of output/outcome measures. May be asked to assist in record review or qualitative review processes. Responsible for keeping the family and team members informed on progress toward achieving Service Plan goals Assist clients with daily living tasks such as behavior management, counseling services to the client, budget management, independent transportation assistance, time management skills, and other tasks to promote independent living. Collaborates with court/probation, tribal/community agencies, families, and other natural support systems to ensure client's needs are met. Develops a strong working relationship with community partners. Assist clients in practicing effective communication, problem-solving, and anger management techniques in their daily lives. Participate in staff meetings, monthly training, company programs, professional development training as required. Conduct crisis assessment Requirements
- Previous experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with addiction counseling practices
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology
- Ability to work with electronic medical records systems
- Crisis Intervention skills CANS and ANSA certification required prior to start date and required trainings in accordance to state and MCO guidelines. MUST be completed before starting or seeing clients. Qualifications
- Applicant must have a minimum of Bachelors' Degree in Human Services or related (e.g. psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention;
- is a registered nurse; or
- At least 2 years of experience providing therapeutic services for children/adolescents with behavioral challenges on an intensive level
