Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Day Hab Attendant and play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent lives. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide personalized support, facilitate engaging activities, and promote social integration within a community-based day habilitation setting. Your compassionate approach will help clients develop essential life skills while ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene while fostering independence and confidence. Support clients during community outings to ensure safe travel. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation. Collect data on client progress, behavior patterns, and activity participation to inform care plans and support team collaboration. Facilitate engaging recreational activities, social skills development, and educational programs aligned with each client's interests and goals. Maintain clear communication with clients, families, and team members to ensure consistent support and updated care strategies. Administer medications following proper protocols when required, ensuring safety and compliance with health regulations. Skills preferred but not required Working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities in a supportive setting. Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices to enhance client engagement. An understanding of behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors. Background in home & community care services or social services supporting individuals with disabilities. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, documentation, and teamwork; compassionate caregiving approach. Certification in First Aid and CPR to respond promptly to emergencies. Experience in medication administration, data collection, or supporting clients with cognitive disabilities is highly valued.
