Mental Health Intern

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Mental Health Intern to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Assist licensed clinicians with patient intake, assessments, and documentation using medical terminology and HIPAA compliance standards Support individual and group therapy sessions, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and DBT therapy Participate in crisis intervention and crisis management activities for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma-related distress Conduct research and data collection related to behavioral health outcomes, ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical records management Aid in case management tasks such as patient care planning, behavioral management strategies, and coordination of services for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder Contribute to clinical documentation efforts ensuring accuracy in medical records and adherence to medical documentation protocols Engage in special projects involving behavioral health research, outpatient programs, or telehealth service delivery Requirements Enrolled in an accredited program in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field with relevant coursework in clinical counseling or mental health disciplines Demonstrated knowledge of psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and addiction counseling Experience or familiarity with working with children, adolescents, geriatrics or individuals with disabilities including autism spectrum disorder or chronic pain conditions Strong understanding of

ICD-9/ICD-10
