Job Description

Asst/Assoc/Professor - Pediatric Developmental Behavioral Medicine Odessa 44325BRPosition DescriptionThe TTUHSC School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics in the Permian Basin specializes in health care for children of all ages. Our faculty physicians are committed to delivering high quality health care to children, as well as excellence in medical education. Serving the communities of the Permian Basin for over 20 years with a diverse patient population.

The TTUHSC Permian Basin Pediatric Residency is a new program based in Midland, Texas beginning in 2028, designed to address critical pediatric care shortages by training residents in general pediatrics and subspecialties like critical care, behavioral developmental, neonatology, adolescent medicine and endocrinology. Supported by a community investment, the program focuses on comprehensive, high-quality care with a focus on rural health.

Major/Essential FunctionsEvaluate, treat and manage complex developmental, learning and behavioral challenges in pediatrics and adolescents;Assess developmental delays, learning disorders and habit disorders;Collaborate with families to address environmental, psychosocial and emotional factors that affect development;Work with school systems and community agencies to ensure educational support for patients;Collaborate with other specialties as a part of a multidisciplinary team; andParticipate in the education of students and residents.

Occasional DutiesRequired Qualifications
MD/DO/MBBS
;Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3;Completed, or in the process of completing, an ACGME accredited Residency; andCompleted, or in process of completing, a Fellowship in Pediatric Developmental Behavioral Medicine.
