As a Legal Assistant you will provide paraprofessional legal and administrative support to attorneys and the legal department as more specifically described below under supervision of attorneys while maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment. You can help achieve this goal if you can: Assist attorneys with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) legal matters, regulatory compliance initiatives, enforcement actions, investigations, and litigation. Maintain environmental legal files, matter databases, regulatory calendars, and document repositories. Track environmental permitting, licensing, reporting, and regulatory filing deadlines. Assist with preparation and submission of environmental permits, registrations, notifications, and related filings as needed. Coordinate communications and document requests involving environmental regulatory agencies and other governmental entities. Conduct legal and factual research regarding environmental laws, regulations, permits, enforcement actions, and agency guidance. Assist with environmental audits, inspections, and compliance reviews under attorney supervision. Coordinate collection, organization, review, and production of documents for environmental investigations, audits, litigation, and regulatory inquiries. Assist with responses to notices of violation, agency information requests, administrative subpoenas, and enforcement actions. Maintain environmental compliance records, permits, monitoring reports, inspection reports, and correspondence. Support due diligence activities as needed. Assist attorneys in preparing chronologies, summaries, presentations, and reports related to environmental matters. Support litigation management activities, including discovery, document preservation, legal holds, witness files, and document productions. Assist with records retention and document preservation requirements relating to environmental compliance and litigation matters. Prepare reports, metrics, and other information as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding environmental investigations, compliance matters, litigation, and attorney-client privileged communications. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Have flexibility to travel on short notice to field operations as needed for legal support/assistance. This position is salaried nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
