The Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking a full-time, energetic professional to join our district-wide Intensive Support Team (ATLAS) as a Behavior Interventionist starting 2026-2027. ATLAS is a specialized program serving students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs. We are looking for a highly skilled, caring individual with specific expertise in social, emotional, and behavioral skill-building to join our dedicated cohort of specialists. In this role, the Behavior Interventionist provides 1:1 behavioral support and programming for individual students and/or small groups with significant needs, including students with severe emotional disabilities. You will work under the direction of licensed professionals to ensure a therapeutic and supportive educational environment. Primary Responsibilities Directing and adjusting elements of student instructional and behavioral plans. Fostering student independence to ensure full participation in all school activities. Collecting and interpreting data to track student progress and inform programming. Integrating instructional, behavioral, and communication interventions directly into the classroom setting. Ensuring safety by assisting students physically as required by their plans; this includes restrictive behavior interventions in accordance with established protocols. Collaborating with professional staff and participating in student team meetings. Providing comprehensive support, which may include assisting students with personal care and supporting them during the bus ride to and from school. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build deep rapport and trust with students and school teams. Foundational knowledge of Trauma-Informed Practices, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Poise and resilience when navigating complex behavioral situations. A Bachelor's degree in education or a related discipline (preferred). A commitment to growth and a desire to gain experience in behavioral programming and therapeutic support within a school setting.
