6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Days) 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Nights) Make a Difference Every Day Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of West Memphis is seeking compassionate, dependable, and energetic Mental Health Technicians (Youth Care Workers) to join our team. What You'll Do As a Mental Health Technician, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for our patients.
Responsibilities include:
Build positive, supportive relationships with children and adolescents receiving behavioral health treatment. Provide continuous supervision and ensure patient safety throughout the shift. Conduct scheduled patient observation rounds and accurately document behaviors. Assist patients with daily living activities and encourage independence. Teach, model, and reinforce positive coping skills, communication, and appropriate social behaviors. Escort patients to meals, therapy sessions, recreation, and other activities. Help maintain a clean, organized, and therapeutic treatment environment. Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the treatment team. Participate in crisis intervention and therapeutic de-escalation when necessary. Safely perform physical interventions or restraints when required (paid training provided). Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Must be 21 years of age or older Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push, and pull as required to safely assist patients and perform crisis interventions Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others Preferred One (1) year of experience in a behavioral health, psychiatric, residential treatment, hospital, assisted living, or healthcare setting Military Corpsman experience Education or work experience in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Education, or related fields Why Join Perimeter Healthcare?
