We partner with families to support continued growth at home. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is the most consistent adult presence in our residents' day-to-day lives. This is hands-on, relational work that requires emotional stability, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to adolescent care. The ideal candidate is grounded, observant, dependable, and able to remain composed in challenging situations. Duties Provide direct supervision of residents throughout assigned shifts, including during groups, meals, recreation, and downtime Conduct observation rounds at assigned intervals and document accurately in the electronic medical record (Kipu) Assist with medication self-administration in accordance with facility protocols and documentation standards Support residents through behavioral and emotional crises using approved de-escalation techniques Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment, including light cleaning and stocking responsibilities Complete shift documentation, communication logs, and incident reports in real time Communicate clearly and professionally with families, clinical staff, the on-call administrator, and incoming shift personnel during handoff Model healthy coping skills, professionalism, and respectful communication at all times Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in every aspect of the role Perform overnight responsibilities when assigned, including room checks, temperature logs, kitchen preparation for the following day's meals, and end-of-shift reporting
Skills & Requirements Required Credentials:
High school diploma or GED Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (current and valid) Current CPR and First Aid certification Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire Current TB test Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, child welfare, education, or a related field Coursework in psychology, social work, or human services Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
