2:00 PM•10:30 PM Job Overview We are seeking experienced and compassionate Licensed Psychiatric Technicians to provide high-quality mental health care within a California correctional facility. The Psychiatric Technician will work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support individuals with psychiatric and developmental needs while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 12 months of Psychiatric Technician experience within the last 3 years in a public or private institution (internship experience does not qualify) Current and active California Psychiatric Technician License Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Key Responsibilities Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to individuals with mental health or developmental disabilities Conduct daily clinical rounds and monitor patients for signs and symptoms of mental illness Administer medications and treatments, including injections, under the supervision of an RN or physician Record vital signs and maintain accurate patient records and documentation Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans Participate in individual and group therapy activities Coordinate care with healthcare providers and custody staff Observe, document, and report changes in patients' physical or mental health conditions Schedule and facilitate medical and psychiatric appointments Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies, including CPR and first aid when necessary Maintain compliance with facility policies, procedures, and documentation standards This is an excellent opportunity for Psychiatric Technicians seeking a stable position with competitive compensation while making a meaningful impact in a correctional healthcare setting.
