MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus one-year of full-time experience working in a group home, hospital, S.E.D. designated classroom, day treatment or other equivalent setting OR Two years of college plus three years of experience working in a group home, hospital, S.E.D. designated classroom, day treatment or other equivalent setting OR High School Diploma plus four years of experience working in a group home, hospital, S.E.D. designated classroom, day treatment or other equivalent setting OR DMH Sponsored TBS Certification for training and internship. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of behavioral management techniques. Experience working with children and teenagers.
Having additional training in:
Applied Behavioral Analysis, leadership skills, management experience is a plus. Spanish Bilingual capability required to meet the clients' needs. Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Clinics' liability policy. May be required to obtain a Class II California driver's license. Must pass all applicable health, fingerprint/LiveScan and DMV clearances.
JOB PURPOSE
The Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist (TBS) supports the mission of the Child & Family Center by providing direct behavioral intervention services to clients in the home, at school or in the community. The TBS specialist provides culturally comprehensive assessment, behavioral interventions and parent education within the scope of practice as designated by Child & Family Center. TBS specialists are energetic self-starters who are able to function comfortably in a team environment or independently and relates well to co-workers and County representatives. This position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Implement behavioral interventions and supportive services consistent with the Therapeutic Behavioral Services plan developed by the Therapeutic Behavioral Services Coordinator, primary therapist, and family. These services are conducted in the clients' home, at school or in the community. Comply with all Center policies and procedures, including those required by the Therapeutic Behavioral Services Program and the Clinical Services Department. Maintain frequent contact with supervisor and consult as needed to provide high quality services. Consistently meet all requirements regarding quality and quantity of service; document services efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner in keeping with established standards. Attend all Therapeutic Behavioral Services supervision and training meetings as well as case conferences for all assigned clients to ensure appropriate and focused treatment plans. Be flexible in schedule to work weekends and evening hours as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
