Job Description

Full Time:
8:30a - 8:30p Friday/Saturday/Sunday shift We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at ViaMar Health. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals with eating disorders, substance use issues, and behavioral health issues. Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is (1) to provide direct and support services to individuals undergoing treatment and (2) to ensure their participation in treatment-related services and facilitate psycho-educational and recreational activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of treatment and dietary plans under the guidance of the clinical staff
  • Monitor and document patient progress and behavior
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities as appropriate
  • Provide appropriate support and structure for patients in dealing with their recovery, interact frequently with patients
  • Embrace and enforce the rules and policies of the agency and residential facility at all times
  • Complete all required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures (i.e., daily logs, behavior reports, incident reports, etc.)
  • Report to the Supervisor any discrepancies in the patient's whereabouts.
  • Develop cohesion and community in the facility by serving as a positive role model to patients and other staff members, consistently engaging in appropriate behaviors and maintaining a positive attitude
  • Attend all mandatory trainings
Qualifications :
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Drivers License
  • FDLE Level 2 Background clearance required (HR will assist in facilitating) - CNA, MA, MedTech and EMT's (Preferred) - personal substance treatment/recovery experience a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
