Job Summary The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) works with people who experience serious mental illness and acts as a role model of recovery. CPS provides group and/or individual training and counseling, as well as service coordination, support for community linkage, and advocacy support to meet individual needs. Assists with completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP). May work in a clinic, peer program, or community setting.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required Current certification as Peer Specialist (CPS) through the Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network is required Two years of experience with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and/or addictive disease is required Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider Card is required CARES and WRAP certifications is preferred Bachelor's degree is preferred Core Competencies These competencies reflect the values and behaviors expected of all Grady team members, regardless of role.
