INTERRELATIONSHIPS
Maintains open communication lines with facility staff, attending clinicians and physicians, clients and families. Liaisons with community agencies, vendors, and payors of health services.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) acts as a representative of treatment staff and observes all patient activity, maintains a visible presence on the clients at the treatment center, community housing, and at outside activities. The BHT will also circulate throughout the treatment center and community housing facility, and alert to fire and safety hazards. The BHT is responsible for driving the company vehicle to ensure clients arrive safely and on time each day for scheduled actives.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION
Developing a daily structure for residential/structured living clients. Developing a weekly structure for the residential/structured living clients. Overseeing residential/structured living clients. Performing Intake procedures for new admissions (complete intake packet). Transporting clients to and from appointments and meetings, when necessary. Utilizing the company van for transportation of clients. Instructing and confirming the company's rules and regulations to new admissions. Evaluating quality of program on an ongoing basis. Facilitating communication with ancillary services. Attending clinical and administrative meetings to integrate inter-departmental sharing of information. Building positive relationships with staff Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment. Following Infection Control Guidelines at all times. Reporting personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Infection Control Designee. Completing and forwarding copy of Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to the Executive Director. Providing a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and clients. Providing and observing self-administration medication to clients Conducting Waived Tests when there is suspicion of drug use Providing a daily report on the hourly rounds made that shift, to the Structured Living Manager. Facilitating client's rules and responsibilities and reporting noncompliance to Structured Living manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS 1. EDUCATION
Some college preferred or meets experience requirements. 2.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 1 year experience in treatment industry preferred. 3.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Maintains state Driver's License and has a good driving record verifiable through Department of Motor Vehicle, preferred. Current CPR certification and First Aid and or trained on within 90 days of hire. 4.
KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE
Knowledge of 12-Step Programs (addiction and recovery) preferred and/ or trained at hire on substance abuse treatment methods. Knowledge of twelve step program. Patient Confidentiality Laws Ability to multitask. Work as a team member. Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies. Knowledge of Workplace Violence 5.
