Job Description

This position will work in our adult male residential substance use disorder treatment program and halfway house. Zion Integrated Behavioral Health Services is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated individual who has avaiblility to work evenings, nights, and weekends to join our residential team. This position plays a key role in providing support, structure, and encouragement to individuals working toward recovery from substance use disorders. The Residential Advisor / Behavioral Health Technician helps create a safe and supportive environment while assisting residents in meeting their treatment goals and maintaining program expectations.
Responsibilities:
Build positive and supportive relationships with residents Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served Support treatment goals identified by the treatment team Conduct routine facility and resident safety checks Answer telephone calls and make appropriate referrals as needed Demonstrate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills when necessary Maintain accurate documentation and shift reports Provide support, encouragement, and accountability to residents Enforce program policies and maintain a structured living environment Assist with daily operations of the residential facility
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required Ability to work independently and responsibly during overnight shifts Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with individuals affected by substance use and/or mental health disorders is helpful but not required Must be able to pass required background checks If you have questions about this position, contact Erin Steffensen at esteffensen@zioniowa.org
