Job Description

Job Summary Join the founding team of Lake Harbor Behavioral Health! A new behavioral health and substance use treatment facility opening soon in Gurnee, IL. We are seeking compassionate and dependable Medical Support Technicians (MSTs) to provide direct patient support while assisting nursing staff with medication administration, vital signs, patient monitoring, and daily care activities. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working directly with patients and want to play an active role in supporting recovery and wellness. Key Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, personal care, meals, hydration, and healthy routines Obtain and document vital signs, reporting concerns promptly to nursing staff Administer medications under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with organizational policies Monitor patient safety, behavior, and participation in treatment programming Conduct routine rounds and maintain awareness of patient whereabouts Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transportation as assigned Document patient observations, behaviors, and care activities accurately and timely Support a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment Communicate effectively with nursing, clinical, and support staff regarding patient needs and concerns Follow
HIPAA, 42 CFR
Part 2, and all facility confidentiality requirements Participate in emergency response procedures and de-escalation efforts when appropriate Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, patient care, or a related field preferred Successful completion of internal Medical Support Technician (UMSP) training required Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use or mental health challenges preferred Valid driver's license preferred Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills Physical Requirements Frequent walking, standing, and active engagement throughout the facility Ability to assist with patient transports and physical interventions as needed Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Why Join Us?
