Position Summary Are you looking for a team focused and energizing role that also has room for potential advancement? Then St Catherine Hospital's MHW 1 position may be what you are looking for! The MHW 1 provides basic patient care and assists psychiatric patients with the function her/his own abilities. This is achieved through individual and group processes that provide a safe environment for psychiatric patients, visitors and employees. Our Psychiatric team is searching for individuals who are good communicators, those who take initiative, and team players! The MHW 1 practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Policies and Procedure of the BHS Department, the Powers Health policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of Powers. Job Responsibilities Provides basic patient care for activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing Communicates clinical information to nurses and Nurse Manager Rounds regularly on patients and performs room checks several times each shift removing from patients' rooms all contraband such as anything potentially dangerous that could be used to harm self or others Regularly assesses and implements non-violent crisis intervention strategies for each patient on the psychiatric units Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Must be willing to receive mandatory
