Job Description
Genesis Behavioral Hospital is a healthcare system providing inpatient and outpatient services. Our inpatient facility is looking for a PRN Mental Health Technician (MHT) who will support the nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu by performing routinely assigned tasks and carrying out patient care activities within the scope of the MHT's training and experience. The MHT's responsibilities include working under a registered nurse, helping patients with personal daily activities, facilitating group activities, monitoring patients' conditions, taking vital measurements such as heart rate and blood pressure. and administering therapeutic care. To be successful as a MHT you should be compassionate and professional, and be able to remain respectful of the patient at all times. MHT must be aware of changes in their patient's conditions and be able to determine pertinent information requiring reporting to the registered nurse. MHT must be proactive in addressing their patients' needs and assist in crisis interventions as necessary.
