CT Sober House New Paths Inc - 3.5 Flint, MI Job Details Part-time 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation CPR Certification Caregiving documentation requirements BLS Certification Client rapport building Patient interaction Typing Quality data entry Full Job Description We have a part time 3rd shift position open assisting clients with substance use disorder (SUD) in our sobering facility. Must have experience working with clients with SUD or mental health. This position will require some weekends and could be up to 4 days a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and adhere to the NPI Code of Ethics, work rules, policies, plans and procedures to promote a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors and employees of New Paths. Responsible for meeting with new clients, reviewing rules and expectations, daily schedules, medication protocols, taking vital signs according to protocols, and overall introduction to the unit. Remain engaged with clients in the milieu throughout the shift to promote personal growth and environmental safety. Assist clients with timely self-administration of prescribed medications according to policy and procedure. Successful handling of multiple, interpersonal interactions with distressed persons, families, and their referral sources. Document interventions, communications, activities and/or services thoroughly, accurately and timely according to policy and procedure. Communicate shift report both verbally and in writing to coworkers each and every shift. Participates in performance appraisal process by identifying professional learning needs and individual goals with supervisor. Participate in staff meetings/team meetings/peer review as required. Participate in performance improvement efforts and other responsibilities as designated by the Supervision/Management. Performs any other duties assigned by the Clinical Support Supervisor and/or Management..
REQUIRED ABILITIES AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Adult CPR Certified (2) or more years' experience with substance use disorder and/or mental health populations. If applicable, maintain licensing and/or certification to meet contractual and State requirements. Demonstrate ability to learn the applicable computer programs and software, and provide accurate and timely data entry functions. Demonstrate the ability to interact with challenging and complex clients in a compassionate, respectful and professional manner. Ability to thoroughly and competently document as needed to meet NPI, contract and accreditation requirements.
Preferred:
Experience within medical field (NA, MA, work in group homes, hospitals, etc.) Experience with
Michigan Department of Corrections Case Management Experience Physical and Mental Effort:
Light physical effort with freedom of movement. Duties conducted within a professional office setting and access areas within the building with stairs. Regular computer keyboard use and some light lifting (10-15 lbs.) may be required. Some travel may be associated with the position.
