Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals navigating mental health and behavioral health challenges. In this vital role, you will leverage your lived experience and professional training to provide peer-led support, foster hope, and promote recovery. Responsibilities Engage with clients through empathetic listening, motivational interviewing, and peer support techniques to foster trust and encourage recovery. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management assistance during urgent situations, ensuring safety and stability for clients. Assist individuals in developing personalized recovery plans, setting achievable goals, and identifying community resources. Document interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards. Mentor clients through behavioral health challenges, addiction counseling, and social skills development to promote independence. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure comprehensive support for clients' mental health needs. Educate clients about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available community services to empower self-management. Skills Strong understanding of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling techniques, and addiction recovery strategies. Proven ability to perform crisis intervention effectively while maintaining composure under pressure. Excellent mentoring skills with a compassionate approach to supporting individuals facing mental health challenges. Proficiency in crisis management protocols and de-escalation techniques to ensure safety during emergencies. Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and case tracking. Knowledge of social work practices, motivational interviewing methods, and community resource navigation. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and foster trust with diverse populations.
