Direct Support Professional - Day Habilitation Technician Casa Angelica - 2.8 Albuquerque, NM Job Details Part-time | Full-time | PRN $15 - $17 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Patient transfer methods High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Day Habilitation Technician Join the Team at Casa Angelica Casa Angelica is currently hiring within our ICF/IID facility serving medically fragile children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities: Direct Support Professional (DSP) Day Habilitation Technician (Dayhab Tech) Whether providing hands-on residential support or facilitating engaging daytime programming, both roles are essential to helping the individuals we serve live with dignity, comfort, safety, and joy. Schedule Availability:
Monday-Sunday (DSP) / Monday-Friday (Dayhab)
Compensation:
$15 - $17 hourly
Responsibilities:
Direct Support Professionals provide hands-on care and daily living support to residents within the residential setting. DSPs play a vital role in promoting safety, comfort, dignity, and quality of life while assisting residents with medical, physical, emotional, and personal care needs. DSP Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility, and positioning Provide emotional support and companionship Monitor residents' physical condition, behaviors, moods, and overall well-being Follow individualized care plans and safety protocols Assist with meals, hydration, and daily routines Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment Accurately document care and report concerns to nursing staff or supervisors Collaborate with nurses, therapists, QIDPs, and interdisciplinary team members Day Habilitation Technicians support residents during structured daytime programming focused on skill-building, recreation, socialization, community inclusion, and meaningful engagement. Dayhab Techs help create a positive and enriching environment that promotes independence, confidence, and personal growth. Dayhab Technician Responsibilities Help facilitate recreational, sensory, educational, and social activities Help the client access their environment using out-of-the-box thinking, as well as their ADA Encourage participation, independence, and skill development, creating arts and crafts Support residents during community outings and group field trips in the community Assist with behavioral support and positive reinforcement strategies Monitor participant engagement, behaviors, and emotional well-being Help maintain a structured, safe, and engaging program environment
Qualifications:
Education High School Diploma or GED required for DSP, not required for dayhab technician Preferred Experience Experience in caregiving, healthcare, direct support, day habilitation, or working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required CNA, HHA, CPR/First Aid, or related certifications are a plus Skills & Abilities Compassionate and empathetic approach to care Strong communication and teamwork skills Patience, flexibility, and professionalism Ability to work independently and within a team environment Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Physical Requirements Ability to lift, transfer, reposition, and assist residents Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical caregiving tasks throughout the shift Additional Requirements Successful completion of a criminal background check and reference verification Valid driver's license preferred, depending on position duties Why Casa Angelica?
