Why This Role Matters The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical frontline role in supporting women early in their recovery journey. By maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, this position helps create the stability and consistency essential for healing and long-term recovery. What You'll Do Client SupportSafety Monitor client behavior, safety, and well-being throughout the shift Conduct regular rounds, bed checks, and wellness observations Respond to incidents and crises using calm, trauma-informed approaches Maintain a safe, respectful, and structured residential environment Milieu Management Support daily routines including wake-up, meals, groups, and transitions Reinforce program expectations, rules, and boundaries consistently De-escalate conflicts and redirect behavior with professionalism and care Client Engagement Build supportive, respectful relationships with clients Encourage participation in programming and recovery activities Model healthy behaviors and support coping skill development Group Facilitation Lead or co-facilitate structured activities such as: Client Handbook Learning Group Recreational or wellness activities Medication Line Support Assist with coordination of medication line under nursing supervision Ensure orderly and timely flow of clients during medication administration DocumentationCommunication Accurately document client interactions, behaviors, and incidents Communicate key observations and concerns to clinical and supervisory staff Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care What You Bring Required High School diploma or equivalent 2+ years' experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or residential care Driver's license Motor vehicle Insurance Act 73, 33 and 34 clearances Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays Strong interpersonal, communication, and observation skills Ability to remain calm and responsive in high-stress or crisis situations Preferred CPR/First Aid certification CRS certification Familiarity with trauma-informed care and recovery principles Compensation, BenefitsPerks Compensation is based on experience and qualifications Shift differentials apply for evening and night shifts Benefits include Health, dental, and vision insurance with minimal employee contribution Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with employer match Professional development and training opportunities Why You'll Love Working at POWER Enjoy working in lovely, peaceful spaces on our brand-new POWER Campus Easy commute with access to public transit and close to Parkway East Be part of a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture Free coffee-because every shift deserves a good start Work ScheduleEnvironment 24/7 residential treatment environment, onsite Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts required Some transportation of clients to appointments and meetings.
