Description:
Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a dedicated Safety and Security Monitor to coordinate and oversee patient monitoring activities while helping to maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment within The Greenbriar Center, our inpatient treatment program in Washington, PA. This position plays a key role in supporting overall building safety and ensuring the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities Monitors patient movement into and out of the facility. Maintains daily logs. Maintains knowledge of all facility rules, regulations, and policies Conduct safety and security rounds throughout the building. Conduct room inspections and complete report of findings daily. Conduct property and personal items searches and chain of custody. Support Nursing with visual searches upon admission. Conduct patient room searches on a rotating schedule and as needed Provide crisis management and patient de-escalation to support clinical staff. Support Counselor Techs with transfers as needed. Monitor medication and MAT line to prevent medication diversion. K-9 walk throughs on a rotating schedule in coordination with Regional Director of Security Provide support in the program as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good communications skills. Good de-escalation skills. Knowledge of 12 step programs.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Chemical dependency treatment experience preferred. Additional Requirements Pass PA Criminal Background Check Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances Pass Drug Screen 2-Step TB Test Required to remain awake and alert to patient activities while on duty. Work Conditions Substance Use Disorder Treatment Center. Favorable working conditions. Moderate physical demands.
