Position Description:
Do you have a passion for helping others and the ability to remain calm, consistent, and safety-focused in high-acuity situations? We're looking for a dependable Mental Health Technician (MHT) to support individuals served in a structured, therapeutic environment. In this role, you'll work directly with individuals served, supporting their daily needs, ensuring safety, and contributing to their treatment journey under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. As an MHT, you'll be an active part of the treatment team—building trust, promoting recovery, and serving as a positive role model in a therapeutic environment. What You'll Do Provide direct care that prioritizes safety, comfort, and individual rights Support treatment plans through supervision, positive interaction, and role modeling Assist with daily living needs, nutrition, rest, and exercise Maintain a safe environment by anticipating risk, setting clear boundaries, and using approved de-escalation techniques. Report behavioral observations and communicate effectively with nursing staff Participate in group activities, recreational programs, and therapeutic milieu support Complete required documentation, safety checks, and observations accurately Escort or provide one-on-one support to individuals served as needed What We're Looking For Education High school diploma or equivalent (required) Associate degree in human services, psychology, criminal justice, education, or a related field (preferred) Experience Experience in direct care, behavioral support, youth services, healthcare, residential programs, security, or other high-accountability environments is strongly valued.
