Full Job Description Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct supervision, behavioral support, and daily monitoring of clients during their participation in PHP and IOP programming. BHTs play a vital role in client engagement, safety, and reinforcement of therapeutic activities and facility expectations. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities but serves a leadership role in modeling appropriate behavior and enforcing program rules among clients.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Provide continuous supervision and enforce program rules. Assist with daily living activities and coping skills development. Document behaviors and incidents accurately. Conduct facility safety checks and crisis interventions. Participate in groups and staff training.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong observation and reporting skills. Ability to assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation. Strong interpersonal communication and boundary setting skills. Team collaboration and ethical standards awareness.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma required; Associate's or PRSS Certification preferred. 1+ year behavioral health experience preferred. CPR/First Aid certification, and valid Texas Driver's License required.
