Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Psych Tech provides a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for assigned patients. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Provides designated patient care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with physicians' orders and in conformance with approved patient care standards; as well as, recording graphics, intake and output, and ADL's in the computer and flow sheet accurately. Obtain instruction and supervision as necessary when implementing nursing procedures or practices; as well as, performing specified patient care activities based on previously acquired nursing skills with consultation and notification of the licensed nurse responsible for patient. This may include incontinent care and assisting with bathing and meals. Performs patient care activities within limits of position -does NOT administer any medication or therapy; does NOT assume independent responsibility for any patient. Performs phlebotomy, 12 lead EKGs, FSBS testing, POC testing after obtaining certification and completing necessary training. Communicates and interacts effectively with patients and their families based on sensitivity to the psychosocial needs of patient and reports objective relevant observations to the licensed nurse to assist in care-planning. Knowledgeable of the usual and stable baseline conditions (both physical and mental) of the specific patient population in which they are employed and institute appropriate nursing interventions that might be required to stabilize a patient's condition and/or prevent complications. Utilizes equipment in the provision of patient care services, adapting equipment usage to the age and general condition of the patient, as indicated; as well as, assisting in the cleaning, sanitation and tracking of all equipment and supplies used in the unit and adheres to all guidelines regarding use of cleaning products. Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent 1-6 months of related experience Required License/Certifications TO within 90 days of hire CPR/BLS within 30 days of hire
