Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide direct support to individuals with mental health, behavioral, developmental, and neurodiverse needs. Your energetic approach will help foster a safe, supportive environment where clients can thrive. You will assist with behavioral interventions, monitor vital signs, support medication administration, and implement individualized care plans. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults facing various mental health and developmental challenges. Duties Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques for clients with autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disorders Support clients during intake assessments, therapy sessions, and daily activities to promote mental health and behavioral care goals Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure client safety and well-being Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medical documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems Utilize crisis management and de-escalation techniques to effectively respond to behavioral emergencies or agitation episodes Support clients with special education needs and addiction counseling as part of comprehensive care plans Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely Assist with social work activities including client communication, progress notes, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams Provide first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure immediate response during medical emergencies Experience Prior experience working with children or youth in behavioral health or educational settings is highly desirable Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or neurodiverse populations Knowledge of PTSD care, crisis intervention strategies, and substance use disorder treatment approaches is preferred Familiarity with medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR/EHR management), and medical documentation practices is essential Experience applying behavior management techniques and conducting behavior intervention assessments is a plus Background in social work, mental health support services, or special education enhances candidate suitability Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) or addiction counseling are advantageous Join us in creating a positive impact through energetic engagement and expert care!
