Direct Care Tech- Innova Grace The ideal candidate must be able to work shifts of 7a
- 3p, 3p
- 11p, and 11p
- 7a with a minimum of 2-day availability during the week and open to weekends.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer medication to clients (Medication pass experience preferred) Deliver quality care to clients within a residential setting Provide supervision of clients while on shift Assist and encourage clients with activities of daily living Provide appropriate documentation as needed Work cooperatively with team members to have knowledge of client's treatment plan Lead various mental health groups following a curriculum Assist in creating and updating mental health curriculums Be available in times of crisis or intense situations Empathetic people who can maintain loving but firm boundaries Assist with meal prep, meal serving, and kitchen clean up Inventory items for new clients and record on inventory sheet All shifts attend to laundry and general house cleaning responsibilities All shifts are responsible for cleaning common areas throughout the day Provide a safe environment by securing restricted areas and doors Account for all clients on daily census sheet Complete shift log, phone log, and end of duty checklist for each shift Other duties as assignedCompetencies:
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills Motivation to grow and increase knowledge within the field of mental health Work independently with minimal oversight Patient and compassionate with client's emotional and psychological needs Basic understanding of mental health and client's emotional/physical/personal boundaries Dependable and consistent attendance for scheduled shifts Outgoing group leader Knowledge of practices utilized in clinical interventions i.e., CBT, ACT, DBT, etc. Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Knowledge of ethical code and requirements of mandated reporting Work collaboratively to meet team goals and expectationsMinimum Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years of age Have earned a High School Diploma or GED Understand mental health practices (experienced) Prior residential experience preferred Certification as a Medical Assistant- MA (preferred), Certified Medication Aide
- CMA (preferred), Certified Mental Health Technician
- CMHT (preferred) Post high school medical education (para-professional nursing, medical, and/or technical) Licensed Vocational Nurse students, Social Work students, Psychology students preferred Must be able to climb stairs (two story house).
