Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The rehabilitation technician will be assigned responsibilities by the Manager of Rehabilitation (MOR) and/or supervising therapist/clinician to provide services as specified in the plan of care within the scope of on-the-job training with supervision by a licensed therapist/clinician who is on the premises and readily available to respond in person.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for aiding licensed therapists/clinicians in treatment sessions 2. Maintain all therapy equipment and other equipment utilized throughout the facility for direct patient care. This includes, but not limited to set up/take down before and after sessions, assist in inventory and ensure therapy area is organized/cleaned at the end of each workday. Must immediately report any safety concerns to area coordinator. 3. The rehabilitation technician may assist all departments to include, but not limited to physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, assistive technology, recreational therapy, social work, counseling, and nutrition. 4. Must effectively communicate with patients and their family members, ensuring a positive experience in the building. The Rehabilitation Technician will defer clinical questions to the licensed supervising therapist/clinician as appropriate. 5. Assist therapists/clinicians with organization and/or printing of home exercise program handouts and additional clerical work as instructed by supervising therapist/clinician or MOR. 6. Perform other duties as delegated, required or requested by area coordinator or supervising therapist/clinician. 7. Must exhibit effective time management skills and have the ability to multi task. 8. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in pediatric therapy setting preferred. 2. Demonstrates ability to work in a team setting. 3. Excellent communication skills.

C. QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent. 2. Technical college certified preferred.

1. Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
