Job Description
These roles are responsible for providing a range of rehabilitation and therapy services across multiple disciplines. Staff and leaders in these positions may deliver care in areas such as physical, occupational, respiratory, and speech therapies, addressing diverse patient needs and promoting overall recovery and well-being. The Outpatient Pediatric Therapies department at UVA Health seeks an experienced or aspiring Rehabilitation Technician to join our team. How does this role support patient care at UVA Health? The Rehabilitation and Mobility Technician works collaboratively with licensed nursing staff and rehabilitation professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to provide essential patient care support in an outpatient acute care setting. This role functions under the direct supervision of licensed medical personnel and plays a key part in promoting patient mobility and recovery. What can I expect to do in this role? Assist patients with mobility activities and therapeutic exercises as directed by licensed clinicians. Support rehabilitation sessions and patient care procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring a safe environment. Manage and maintain rehabilitation and mobility equipment, ensuring availability and cleanliness. Promote the importance of early and ongoing mobility to patients and families in alignment with clinical care plans. Provide hands-on assistance during therapy sessions and mobility activities, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes. Provide for a safe environment and safe delivery of care. Actively participate in professional growth activities and maintains necessary skills and competencies. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
