Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive women's health and reproductive patient care, including prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and family planning services. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, compassionate care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiology evaluations to determine care needs Provide primary care services such as contraception counseling, family planning, and women's health education Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including childbirth assistance and obstetric surgery support when needed Perform medical procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, and injection administration Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of medical records, care plans, CPT coding, ICD coding, and medical documentation compliance with HIPAA standards Monitor patient progress during labor using sonography and other diagnostic tools; manage patient monitoring systems effectively Prescribe medications within scope of practice; ensure medication administration aligns with safety protocols and pain management standards Collaborate with interprofessional teams to develop comprehensive care plans; participate in discharge planning and outpatient follow-up care Maintain proficiency in women's health topics including reproductive health, family planning methods, obstetric anatomy knowledge, and out-of-hospital birth experience Support acute care needs in inpatient or outpatient settings; assist with obstetric surgery procedures and NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) experiences as required Requirements Valid certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM) from an accredited program; current state licensure required Demonstrated experience in hospital settings with OB/GYN focus; prior out-of-hospital birth experience is a plus Proficiency in suturing, obstetric surgery assistance, ultrasound (sonography), and OR experience preferred Strong knowledge of women's health and reproductive patient care; familiarity with maternal health public health principles Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems including medical records management and clinical documentation standards Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); additional certifications such as NICU experience or advanced practice provider credentials are advantageous Ability to perform physical examinations accurately; excellent client communication skills for effective patient education and counseling Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to obstetrics/gynecology, CPT coding, ICD coding, medication administration protocols, and pain management techniques Experience with specimen collection/processing; inpatient/outpatient acute care experience highly valued Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy; competence in discharge planning and client-centered care approaches Join us to empower women through compassionate healthcare delivery!
