The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative team of six CNMs, nine Physicians, and five Advanced Practice Gyn Clinicians at BOGG, the premier, privately owned women's health practice in the Pioneer Valley with robust support staff and leadership teams. The successful applicant will have the following qualifications: Previous experience as a full-scope CNM, Master's degree, graduate of an appropriate and accredited nurse midwifery program, active CNM license and prescriptive license (preferably with the state of MA) and Federal Drug Enforcement agency, active AMCB certification, CPR certification. Skills required include complex problem solving using multiple resources in a manner appropriate to the situation, effective verbal and written communication skills, and experience with technology in a healthcare setting. As this position includes office hours as well as 24 hour on-call shifts, the candidate must be capable of maintaining long and irregular work hours.
Career responsibilities:
In accordance with established midwifery practice guidelines, provide full scope ob/gyn midwifery care to patients in settings including in-office, inpatient, labor, delivery and postpartum management; communicate with on-call physician as needed; order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, write prescriptions and medication orders; work collaboratively with other providers and staff; record all appropriate documentation in an EMR system; respond in a timely manner to staff inquiries as needed; attend department and practice-specific meetings. BOGG offers a close-knit midwife team that appreciates the strong relationship-based care model that we have with patients and among midwife colleagues. The ideal candidate will value the core fundamentals of midwifery care, supporting and normalizing physiologic birth, following evidence-based care standards, and understanding the empowerment that midwives can foster with individuals and their families. Women have the option of choosing midwifery care (with support from our board certified physicians if needed). The midwives at BOGG attend births at Baystate Medical Center and see patients in our Springfield, Longmeadow, and Agawam offices.
