Job Description
Job Summary Greater Meridian Health Clinic, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) to provide comprehensive maternity and women's health services within a dynamic healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise in obstetrics, gynecology, and primary care, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will deliver prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, family planning, and gynecological services while ensuring adherence to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews, utilizing advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Perform obstetric procedures such as labor support, delivery assistance, suturing, and specimen collection with precision and care. Manage inpatient and outpatient care plans for women across all stages of pregnancy, including high-risk cases requiring NICU experience. Administer medications, injections, IV insertions, and perform venipuncture in accordance with medical protocols and HIPAA regulations. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, CPT coding, ICD coding, and discharge planning. Provide family planning counseling and perform routine gynecological services such as Pap smears, pelvic exams, and contraception management. Monitor patient progress during labor & delivery and utilize sonography skills for fetal assessments when necessary. Ensure compliance with NCQA standards for quality care while maintaining high standards of patient safety and pain management. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that incorporate medical terminology knowledge and acute care procedures. Qualifications Valid certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Midwife (CM) from an accredited program with current licensure. Proven experience in hospital settings with expertise in obstetrics, gynecology, labor & delivery, NICU procedures, and outpatient care. Proficiency in suturing techniques, OR experience preferred for surgical support roles. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient assessment protocols. Experience with EMR/EHR systems including documentation of care plans and medical records management. Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding for accurate billing practices aligned with NCQA standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on family planning options and health maintenance strategies. Ability to work effectively in inpatient or outpatient environments while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety guidelines.
