PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for providing health care for OB/GYN patients, including patient diagnoses, treatment, education and referrals.
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Master's Degree in Nursing accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).
Experience:
- 3 plus years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performing the same or similar job duties.
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following: American Heart Association or American Red Cross Current licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) National Certification from the
American Midwifery Certification Board Registered Nursing License Responsibilities:
Examine patients and their medical records Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.) Diagnose health conditions and illnesses Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases Prescribe medications Maintain accurate records and schedules Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention Oversee patients' overall health Promote good health practices Advance professional knowledge and conduct research Shared On-Call duties and responsibilities Management of labor and delivery patients
Skills or Special Abilities:
Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nursing Practice Act or Texas Medical Board Rules, as applicable to licensure, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate patient centered behaviors. EMR experience Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting Strong ethics Team spirit with a positive attitude Patience and cool-headedness Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
