In this vital role, you will provide expert maternity and women's health care, supporting patients through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. Your expertise will ensure safe, personalized, and comprehensive care for women of all ages, promoting positive health outcomes and empowering patients with education and guidance. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine appropriate care plans. Assist in labor and delivery processes, providing support during active labor, monitoring fetal well-being through sonography and other diagnostic tools. Perform medical procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, specimen collection and processing, and medication administration with precision and care. Support obstetric surgeries by assisting in preoperative preparations and postoperative care, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), documenting patient encounters accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on women's health topics including family planning, reproductive health, pregnancy education, and postpartum care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans aligned with NCQA standards and best practices in maternal health. Skills Proficiency in suturing, venipuncture, injection administration, and specimen collection/processing. Extensive hospital experience with inpatient and outpatient settings; strong OR experience preferred. Knowledge of obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), labor & delivery procedures, NICU protocols, and maternal health public health principles. Skilled in patient monitoring, vital signs assessment, physical examinations, and medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems. Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, and discharge planning processes. Ability to perform ultrasound (sonography) assessments related to women's reproductive health. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical records management, pain management techniques, and acute care practices.
