A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Music Therapist Advantage Health Systems - Riverside We are currently in need of
PER DIEM
Music Therapist to provide music therapy consultations and services to the patient and/or family in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care while following all hospice policies and procedures. Support the business development activities of the organization. Provide bereavement counseling to family members as identified.
Brief Job Responsibilities:
Complete a music therapy assessment with patient and family when referred in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care. Implement the music therapy interventions in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care. Guide the patient in the use of creative therapeutic activities for the purpose of improving or maintaining mental and physical function and quality of life. Instruct other care team members including, when appropriate, hospice aides and family members in the use of music to achieve individualized care plan goals. Provides consultation, education, and support to the interdisciplinary group on music therapy services. Provides for funeral or memorial services for patients as requested. Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities. Position Qualifications 1. Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and/or Music Therapy. 2. Board Certified as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapy. 3. Experience in hospice care is preferred. 4. Hospice and Palliative Care Music Therapist preferred. 5. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.. 6. Demonstrates commitment to the Advantage Hospice philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organization culture.
