The ideal candidate will utilize music therapy techniques to support individuals in achieving therapeutic goals, enhancing their emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, individuals with developmental disabilities. The Music Therapist will create personalized treatment plans and engage clients in both individual and group therapy sessions. Duties Conduct assessments to determine clients' needs and develop tailored music therapy treatment plans. Implement music therapy interventions that may include singing, songwriting, playing instruments, and movement activities. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on improving mental health, emotional expression, and social skills. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care and ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Engage in behavioral therapy techniques to support clients with autism, developmental disabilities, or mental health challenges. Provide recreational therapy for various age groups. Document progress notes and treatment outcomes for each session while adhering to CPT coding standards. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in music therapy . Required Qualifications Meet current credentialing requirements issued by Sunshine Health of Florida and CMS Health Plan of Florida to provide expressive therapy services. Board Certified as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) a professional credential awarded by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT) Medicaid Enrollment Requirement. Required Florida Medicaid ID. Active Individual NPI . Must appear on AHCA'S Provider Master List once enrolled. Experience working with childrens with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Compassionate approach towards patients. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Understanding of the therapeutic benefits of music as well as recreational activities for mental health improvement. Join us in making a difference through the healing power of music!
