A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Responsibilities:
Assessment of pediatric clients Create individualized treatment plans that are appropriate and effective Provide evidence-based treatment Electronic documentation of daily therapy notes and evaluation reports Collaboration with other professionals on multi-disciplinary team Parent/Caregiver communication, education, and supportQualifications/Skills:
Bachelor or Masters Degree in Music Therapy MT-BC (Music Therapist- Board Certified) by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) CPR/BLS certification Experience working with children & adolescents ages birth-18 (preferred) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Creative and energetic Strong professional ethics and self-discipline We OFFER the following: Flexible Scheduling Options Annual Continuing Education Reimbursement Multi-disciplinary Collaboration•(OT, PT, ST, Music and ABA) Financial Stipend•Annual stipend is available for purchase of any independent financial services needed including independent health insurance, dental and vision; life/disability insurance; retirement planning, etc.
